Google is offering Gemini's personalized AI image generation feature at no cost for those who qualify in the United States. Initially, the feature was available for only certain paying subscribers.
It uses Google's Personal Intelligence technology, Google Photos, and the Nano Banana AI image model to generate images according to the user's tastes.
The feature may access Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Google Search accounts with permission to gain a better understanding of the user's preferences. It makes it possible to provide shorter prompts such as "design my dream house" without going into much detail.
Gemini may even utilize the pictures saved in Google Photos to generate illustrations including the user without the need to upload photos separately. The prompt like "create an illustration of me and my favorite things" will make use of information provided by the user's photos and other Google applications.Google assures that this feature is optional and users have to grant permission for accessing their Google apps. Moreover, they can revoke this permission or modify the setting any time. For the free version of the feature, users need to be at least 18 years old, have a personal Google account, and reside in countries where the feature is supported.
Even with this latest development, the feature remains under certain restrictions in terms of access. While the free version allows access to the Nano Banana model, which has download restrictions, better image generation and usage are available through Google’s paid AI services.
The latest update comes as Google’s attempt to make Gemini more useful by integrating it into more Google products, and while also providing users with control over their data.
There has been no news from Google regarding the availability of the personalised image generation service in India.
